The San Diego Actors Theatre

is a non-profit professional theatre organization committed to presenting high quality, exciting, contemporary American Theatre which include main stage productions, staged readings, extensive and exciting theatre outreach for children and adults and much more. For the last 10 years, Founder & Artistic Director, Patricia Elmore Costa has specialized in producing and directing site specific theatre at various indoor and outdoor locations and venues in San Diego County including SD Public Theatre’s Blackbox, Bowery Theatre, Seagrove Park, Del Mar,  Sushi Performing & Visual Art, Scott White, Jett, and the Quint Contemporary Art Galleries, L’Auberge Del Mar Lap Pool and L’Auberge Del Mar Garden Amphitheatre, and traditional theatres including, the 6th @ Penn, SD Rep’s Sixth Avenue Playhouse, Lyceum Theatre, Moxie, Diversionary, NCRT and the San Diego Museum of Art.

Patricia Elmore Costa is the Founder and Artistic Director of the San Diego Actors Theatre.  She has been the driving force for twenty-five years and continues as a professional actor, director, writer and producer for SDAT and other leading arts organizations.  Recently, she created  ” Dive In Theatre” – a site specific theatre event in and around the lap pool at the prestigious L’Auberge Del Mar Lap Pool in the seaside town of Del Mar.  She wrote and directed the wet and wacky comedy, “Fiancee” which had a successful debut before hundreds of captivated audience members in September 2009.

Staged Reading on February 23rd

On February 23rd, 2015 at 7pm Patricia Elmore Costa will direct a revival of John Patrick Shanley’s DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA – an explosive, deeply affecting study of alienation and the redemptive power of love. In this 75 minute play with an “Apache Dance” subtitle , Danny, a trucker known as “The Beast” and Roberta, a divorced mother living with her parents exchange insults, obscenities, and damning confessions at a watering hole in the Bronx.
